The Pirate Mural
Large mural - acrylic on plaster
6m
long x 5m wide x 2.2 m high
The children's
treatment room in Newcastle's Freeman
Hospital was basically an off-white box with the eye being drawn
to the corner of the room to the tubes and pipes and and strange
instruments by the bed. This room is mainly used to treat very young
children and it was thought that this environment was too stark and
intimidating for them so I was asked to produce something lively and
colourful to distract from the instruments in the corner
